  • Year 4 Sugar Spies

    Mon 29 Jan 2018

Dosbarth Clwyd really put their scientific skills to the test today when they became sugar spies.

They were looking at how much sugar is in every day drinks, snacks and cereals and comparing them against the daily recommendations.

Perhaps the biggest eye opener for them was the amount of sugar in some of the drinks - with a popular smoothie aimed at children having more sugar in it than cola !

The children used and applied so many numeracy and communication skills and there was such an amazing learning buzz in the classroom.

    Mon 22 Jan 2018
The juniors in our school council met today to discuss the possibility of sponsoring a child in Kenya they will be going back to their classes to discuss this with the children. They also worked with local business woman and parent Mrs Heywood to think about ways to raise money. It was a very productive meeting.
  • Fire station Visit

    Fri 19 Jan 2018
We had a wonderful time at Deeside fire station with Years 1 and 2. The firefighters went out of their way to ensure that our children had an exciting morning. I think that the highlight for many of our pupils and staff was operating the hose ! The children as ever behaved brilliantly and asked some really interesting questions. A big thank you to Mrs Williams for planning the trip and of course to all at Deeside Fire station. Photographs are being added onto the gallery page of the website.
