Dosbarth Clwyd really put their scientific skills to the test today when they became sugar spies.
They were looking at how much sugar is in every day drinks, snacks and cereals and comparing them against the daily recommendations.
Perhaps the biggest eye opener for them was the amount of sugar in some of the drinks - with a popular smoothie aimed at children having more sugar in it than cola !
The children used and applied so many numeracy and communication skills and there was such an amazing learning buzz in the classroom.
Due to the prospect of continuing heavy snow fall we are partially closed.
If you are able to pick up your children early you can do so.
Please take care driving the side road into school is particularly slippery.
We had an excellent afternoon playing football against Northop Hall, Ysgol Rhos Helyg and Ysgol Y Waen - hosted by Y Waen. There was some really impressive play by players from all of the teams and excellent sportsmanship. A big thank you to our parents and grandparents who transport the children and give great support to our team. We are looking forward to our next game against Drury.
The team looked incredibly smart in their kit sponsored by Eaware.
Saturday 11th November saw our community come together for a memorial service at school to honour the fallen soldiers from our village.
Our pupils read beautifully and Viv Williams from Flintshire War Memorials read out letters from William Hodgkinson to and from his family - it was incredibly poignant. Vicar Richard led the service and Northop Brass Band were outstanding - it was wonderful to see so many young people in the band. A big thank you to all from our community who came to the evening and to Mrs Barry for organising the pupil presentations.
