General Class Information
Our P.E day is a Thursday afternoon - children will need to arrive to school in our school P.E skit please.
Outdoor Learning is on a Friday afternoon - children will need to arrive in warm, suitable clothing with a waterproof coat and change of footwear/wellies.
Our current topic is 'The Skies Above My Eyes'. Our learning journey will see the children becoming expert astronauts, scientists and explorers. They will deepen their understanding of space, science, geography and storytelling while using real-life maths and problem solving skills. Drama and teamwork will drive the adventure, helping every child to develop confidence, creativity and resilience as they prepare for the greatest journey - the journey to Planet X!
Daily/weekly information will be shared via the Seesaw platform. If you require a new log in QR code, please just ask the class teachers.

Our Outdoor Rainbow Challenge has been to build a drainage system to transport water. All children showed outstanding teamwork and resilience to complete the task and didn’t give up even when it was proving difficult! Superstar effort pawb!

Dosbarth Clwyd have been busy creating Firework Safety posters. Mr. Hamilton judged them but found it too hard to pick a top three because they were all spectacular!

This week, we explored Earth’s structure by modelling the inner core, outer core, mantle, and crust with playdough, discussing each layer’s characteristics and practicing new vocabulary.

Our school rules are to be ‘Ready, Respectful and Safe’, and Miss Hughes pops a token into our jar every time she spots us making super choices. After filling up our jar in record speed, we chose to celebrate with a film afternoon!

🌈 This afternoon, Miss Hughes introduced us to our Rainbow Challenges! We have 7 challenges to complete in order to fill our rainbows! We were so excited to get started!

In our Maths lesson, we have been learning about how we can represent 100 in different ways. We used counters, numicon and blocks to represent lots of different numbers and some of us even stretched our thinking by representing numbers to 1,000! Superstar effort and very happy children!

We have been enjoying spending time in our independent areas! Miss Hughes has been working on creating different areas around our classroom and we love giving her ideas of what else to add to our learning environment!

Our first class topic will be based on the book 'The Street Beneath Our Feet'. We were so excited to explore this book in more detail this afternoon and we already have lots of questions that we can't wait to be answered in the upcoming weeks!

Year 3/4 have begun reading ‘The Last Bear’ by Hannah Gold and we are already hooked! Over the past few days, we’ve been busy creating our own Bear Island maps with Mrs Underwood. For this first term, our Outdoor Learning theme is centred around immersing ourselves in nature. For this weeks task, we have been busy creating nature collages; looking closely at colours, patterns and lines.

After learning more about the impacts of Plastic Pollution through research and reading of 'The Last Bear', Dosbarth Clwyd wrote their own rhyming poems. They then used Canva to create their own digital copy.

Inspired by ‘The Varmints’ by Helen Ward, Dosbarth Clwyd spent the afternoon dissecting flowers to identify their key parts. This will lead on to future action planning around how to bring more wildlife to our school grounds.

The Last Bear has been leaving us feeling very inspired to make a positive difference. To start, we decided to create a piece of Whole class artwork designed to show the impact of litter on arctic animals.

As part of our Polar Explorer mantle, Year 3 and 4 took part in an Arctic Training Programme, designed to test our agility, strength and determination. We all passed... we're going to the Arctic!

The first lesson of our Archaeology topic and we’re hooked! In role, we uncovered archaeological discoveries that helped us to learn more about our local past.
